Kristine Gilmore

AASA, The School Superintendents Association

During her 19 years as superintendent, Dr. Kristine Gilmore has led a team of dedicated staff in the service of one mission: help every student identify their strengths, develop the skills for a successful future and discover a pathway suited to their particular interests. Under her leadership, the combined efforts of DCE students, staff, families and the community have led to the DCE District being recognized as a national leader in education and innovation.

Gilmore began her career as a teacher and then at DCE in 1997 as the DCE Junior High Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, then served consecutive terms as Evergreen Elementary Principal and DCE Middle School Principal.

She has served as President of the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators and Adjunct Professor and Doctoral Program Coordinator at Edgewood College, testified before the Wisconsin State Legislature concerning public education, mentored young educators and aspiring administrators and is a respected voice concerning overcoming barriers to female leadership. She was named Wisconsin Superintendent of the Year, and received the WASDA Outstanding Educator, ATHENA Leadership Award and Wisconsin Music Educator of the Year.

She has served on the United Way, Junior Achievement, YMCA, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Musuem, Northcentral Technical College, Chamber of Commerce, AASA and the D.C. Everest Education Foundation boards. She will forever be a proud DCE Alumna and is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have served the greater Everest community.
